Tlingit Basket by Preston Singletary Joan Miró The white lilies and greenWith its cool, meditative palette of steel blue and grey, this glass vessel by Preston Singletary reflects both innovation and heritage. Inspired by traditional Tlingit baskets, the work is created through a complex glassblowing and sand carving process that mimics the woven patterns of ancestral spruce root containers. Preston's work is currently on view in Clearly Indigenous: Native Visions Reimagined in Glass at the Chrysler Museum.
