The boy was George Brentford Mitchell (Feb 1862 Nov 1920), and although not identified, the man might have been George's father, Archibald (1819 1885). Young George is shown wearing Scottish sash. His father Archibald was born in Scotland and was a Captain in the Civil War, Confederate Army, Co.
