Conclusions To our knowledge, this is the first human study: (a) to investigate the co-administration of GR from BSE and mustard seed powder with known Myr activity, (b) to include a standardized dose of ascorbic acid (Vit C), a known cofactor to the Myr enzyme, (c) to evaluate the possibility of predicting gut microbial responsiveness to GR, and (d) to investigate the effects of a well-defined source of Myr on conversion of broccoli seed GR to SF and its ability to modulate gut bacteria
